The default format for the results string uses the numerical encoding for the various data elements that can be rendered. This default string format is present in the base Store Locator Plus plugin. You can reset to the default at any time by deleting the entry in the Results Layout field under Settings/Results/Appearance and saving the settings.
There are five to seven sections under the Settings/Results tab admin panel depending on which add-ons you have activated. Each section describes when and/or where the results will appear under your map.
Not all of the settings will appear if you have the Advance level plan for SaaS or do not have the Experience and/or the Power add-ons for the basic WPSLP self managed plug-in.
At Startup
You determine the Number of results you want to appear on the map and locator page as soon as the page loads when you have “Show locations at startup” checked. We recommend 50 for most sites unless you have the Premier add-on or Enterprise level plan (if using MYSLP) which allows less clutter on the map by virtue of “cluster markers”.
The next setting is the radius to search initially when “Show locations at startup” is checked. Leave empty to use the map radius default. Recommended : Set to a large number to search everywhere.
And the third setting is : ” Number to show initially.” How many results do you want to show under the map? This is the part that populates the actual information regarding your locations (under or next to your map depending on the style) with the address, website info, phone, etc.
If you are signed up for the MYSLP, the Professional level plan) additional settings can be enabled , for example do NOT show the results until after a search has been performed”. The setting is labeled “Disable Initial directory”
Experience Add-On or Professional level MySLP SaaS
The Experience Add-on for WordPress SLP plug-in , or the Professional level or higher plan for MySLP Software-as-a-Service application allows you to customize the layouts, the map interface, and the search form to display in a certain manner on the front end of your locator page
Search Layout
Search Layout is found under the Settings tab on the Search panel.
This setting allows the search form layout to be modified via a text setting. If the Search Layout field is left blank the default search form layout and your SLP style is used. If Search Layout is modified the layout will take precedence over most of the Search Form settings and the basic Store Locator Plus.
Results Layout ShortcodesThe Experience Add On allows you to custom tailor the look and feel of the Store Locator Plus plugin on your site. To accomplish this the plugin uses a combination of HTML and special shortcodes. These can be changed or checked off under the Settings* tab the plugin.
* formerly referred to as Experience tab, if you do not see Settings in the UI you are not using the latest version of Store locator Plus
The Overall Layout
This is set via the View / Layout setting. It determines the overall layout for the plugin based on 3 primary components: The Search Form, The Map, and The Results.
Store Locator Plus allows you to feature specific locations in your search results. This requires the Experience add on (or Premier ) for WordPress or a Professional or Enterprise account for My Store Locator Plus. Some of the interface styles provided by the style gallery support featured location highlighting “out of the box”, such as the Default With Font Tweaks style.
Select A Style That Supports Featured Locations
The Default With Font Tweaks Style is one of the styles that highlights locations and is a good starting point for testing this functionality. You can adjust the layout and styling afterwards to meet your specific design requirements.
WPSLP – Select the Store Locator Plus entry in the side menu.
MYSLP – Select Store Locator Plus in the side menu.
Go to the Settings Tab and select the View subtab.
Click on the activate button on Default With Font Tweaks in the style gallery.
A. A shortcode is a WordPress-specific code that lets you do nifty things with very little effort. Shortcodes can embed files or create objects that would normally require lots of complicated, ugly code in just one line. In other words, a Shortcode = shortcut.
Find it under Settings | Results | Results Interaction
When the Use Dial Link for Phone Setting is checked it will make the phone number in your locations results clickable to auto dial by adding a tel: based hyperlink.
The dial-ready hyperlink will be used wherever the [slp_location] shortcode is used. This includes the results under the map, directory landing pages, and in Store Pages if the [slp_location] shortcode is used instead of the [storepage field=”phone”] shortcode.
Additional Results Interaction features are available with the MySLP/Enterprise or WPSLP Premier Add On. The results interaction set of features provides a variety of visual cues on the location map to indicate the location a user has clicked when viewing a list of locations., providing a variety of additional options beyond the standard Info Bubble that Store Locator Plus displays when a location is clicked.
Use the Experience add-on to completely disable the Info Bubble under the map and only use these interactive result indicators. When a visitor to your site clicks on the results marker they will see additional information such as description you have entered for that location, in addition to the fields that are populated for the location.
Category ranking is a feature when you are using the Power Add-on (for the self managed WPSLP plugin) or the Professional or higher level subscription for MYSLP SaaS with the category manager. The rank is used to sort the categories which will affect the map marker that is used when a location has been assigned more than one category. Following the page ranking paradigm set by WordPress, the rank field is a simple numeric weighting for the categories. This extended data attribute for categories makes it easy to re-arrange the “weight” of categories for map marker selection without mangling category slugs. The lower the number, the higher the precedence for the map marker.
The option to set a category rank can be found under the Store Locator Plus Categories tab.
Store Locator Plus includes a default set of data fields that is included with every installation. Various add-on packs add extended data fields.
For ALL extended data fields you can output the data in ANY info bubble, results layout, etc.if you have an add-on pack that allows you to change the layouts (Experience add-on) or if you are using the SLP SaaS Professional level Plan.
